The Food Project App is transforming the way food rescue happens. If you’re looking to volunteer, this app makes it simple, efficient, and impactful. Volunteers can sign up for quick food rescues that fit their schedule, ensuring donated food reaches people in need.

aPP SET UP:

  1. Download the App from your preferred store.

  2. Select Your Region: Choose the “Dallas-Fort Worth Metro” option.

  3. Create Your Account in a few simple taps.

  4. Verify Your Account with the confirmation PIN sent to you.

  5. Complete Your Volunteer Profile so we can match you with the right opportunities.

  6. You're All Set! Time to start making a difference in our community!

How it Works for Volunteers

    Claim a Food Rescue. Sign up for a one-time food rescue near you or weekly on the same route, time, and day each week and set alerts to receive push rescue notifications on days and times that are convenient for you so you never miss an opportunity to help.

  • ✽

    Complete the Food Rescue. Click on the food rescue you’re interested in and get step-by-step instructions for pick up and drop off. This includes how many boxes or bags of food you’ll be collecting, who to contact and which of our community partners needs it. There is are GPS directions in the app that will take you right to the Food Donor for pick up and then on to the recipient to drop off your rescue.

How it Works for Food Donors

    Complete the Food Project Donor Form. We will get you set up in our system to make sure you can start donating food!

    Post Available Surplus Food. Whether it’s prepared meals, fresh produce, or shelf-stable items, list what’s avilable.

    Get Matched With a Volunteer. The App connects your donation to a nearby food rescue volunteer.

  • ✽

    Reduce Food Waste & Support Your Community. Your donation helps feed families while keeping food our of landfills.
